The 2017 Miss Corning Scholarship Pageant is scheduled for August 26th at Rodgers Theatre. Applications are now being accepted and are available from Dennis Wyman at the Corning High School career center. Applications can be turned into the Chamber of Commerce office by May 31st. The entry fee is $25 to be paid by contestant sponsors and is due at the time entry is approved.
This year’s theme is “Hollywood”, with the first pageant workshop being held on July 10th.
Application is open to girls who will be high school seniors living within the Corning Union High School District area for the 2017-2018 school year and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Applicants will be asked to submit a 250-word essay on what being Miss Corning means to them.
Contest judging criteria includes interview, biographical information, essay and stage presence.
